Ciudad Lerdo (which means Lerdo City) is a lively city in the northeastern part of Durango, Mexico. It is the main city, or "municipal seat," for the larger Lerdo Municipality. This means it's where the local government for the area is located.
In 2010, about 79,669 people lived in Ciudad Lerdo. This number was higher than in 2005, when there were 71,373 residents. The entire Lerdo Municipality had a population of 141,043 people.
Even though the climate is dry, Ciudad Lerdo is known for its many plants and green spaces. People often call it the "garden city." It is also famous for its delicious ice cream!
