Les Valls d'Aguilar, also known as Valls de Aguilar, is a small town in the Catalan region of Alt Urgell, Spain. It's a type of local government area called a municipality. In 2013, about 320 people lived there.
This municipality includes several smaller areas. These are Argestues, Bellpui, Berén, Biscarbó, Castellás, Castells, Espaén, Guardia de Arés, Junyent, Miravall, Novés de Segre, Tahus, and Trejuvell. The main town of the municipality is Novés de Segre.

A Look at Les Valls d'Aguilar's Past
Les Valls d'Aguilar was once part of the viscounty of Castellbó. This was a historical territory ruled by a viscount. The municipality you see today was created in 1972. It was formed by joining four older municipalities together. These were Castellás, Guardia de Arés, Noves de Segre, and Tahús.

Churches in Novés de Segre and Bellpui

In Bellpui, you can find the remains of another Romanesque church. This one is called the Church of Santa Leocadia.
Churches in Guardia de Arés and Trejuvell
The church in Guardia de Arés is dedicated to Saint Stephen. It is also a Romanesque church, built around the 12th century. This church has one main nave with a rounded, barrel-shaped roof. Two small chapels were added to the sides later. It also has a semicircular apse, which is a rounded end part of the church, and a bell gable for bells.
The Church of Santa Elena in Trejuvell is even older. It has parts that date back to before the Romanesque period. It features a unique trapezoidal apse.
The Church of Santa Julia in Tahus
In Tahus, you will find the Church of Santa Julia. This church also has Romanesque origins. It has a single nave and a rectangular shape. The roof is vaulted and supported by strong arches. It has a semicircular apse. The original entrance, which was arched, is now closed off. The entrance used today was built in 1769.
