Let's Get Inventin' is a cool New Zealand TV show. It's a reality television series where young inventors get to shine! Kids aged 8 to 17 share their awesome ideas. The show then helps them turn these ideas into real inventions. If their invention works, they could win prizes. They even have a chance to get their idea officially patented. This means their idea is legally protected.

The show was very popular. In 2007, it won a big award called the Qantas Award. It was for the best children's or youth programme. The show has been seen in over 72 countries around the world. In 2014, it was even nominated for an International Emmy Award.

Over seven seasons, 91 young New Zealanders shared their ideas. They worked with some of the best inventors in the country. Together, they brought these amazing ideas to life. Some inventions included rocket-powered ice skates and a six-legged walking car. There was even a jet-powered hover skateboard! Twelve of these inventions got official patents. At the end of each series, the New Zealand public voted for their favorite invention. The winner received a prize package worth $10,000. They also got a trip to the UK and a ride in an Aquada car.

The BBC in the UK made two versions of the New Zealand show. These were called Whizz Whizz Bang Bang (2007) and Ed and Oucho's Excellent Inventions (2009-2010).
