Lewis Sargent (born August 19, 1903 – died November 19, 1970) was an American actor who appeared in many movies. He acted in 80 films between 1917 and 1949, starting when he was a child.

Who Was Lewis Sargent?

Lewis Sargent was born in Los Angeles, California, on August 19, 1903. He grew up with eight brothers and sisters. His father, also named Lewis, was a carpenter. Lewis's older brother, Don Sargent, worked in Hollywood for over 40 years as a cinematographer. A cinematographer is the person who operates the camera and is in charge of how the movie is filmed.

Becoming an Actor

Lewis started acting when he was a child, during the early days of motion pictures. He continued acting until 1935. One of his roles was playing George, an assistant, in the movie series The New Adventures of Tarzan. This series was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs and filmed in Guatemala.
