Library is a small place in Pennsylvania, called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. It's located in South Park Township, right along a road called Brownsville Road.

The Story Behind the Name

Library wasn't always called Library! Its first name was Loafer's Hollow. But the people living there decided to change it. They wanted to honor the very first library in the area. This special library was started by a person named John Moore in 1833. So, they renamed their community Library.

Local Life and Traditions

South of Library, the original path of Brownsville Road continues as Pennsylvania Route 88. Every year, the community of Library holds a special event. They have an annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony. This is a way for everyone to remember and honor those who served their country.

Getting Around Library

Library is connected to the wider area by public transportation. It has its own stop, called Library station. This station is part of the Port Authority of Allegheny County's light rail network. Specifically, it's on the Silver Line, making it easy for people to travel.
