Limestone City is a small, unincorporated community located in Clark County, in the state of Ohio in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place with a name and people living there, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
What is Limestone City?
Limestone City was officially created, or "platted," in 1886. It got its name from the important local industry at the time: limestone quarrying. A quarry is a large pit where stone, like limestone, is dug out of the ground. Limestone was a valuable resource used for building and other purposes.
