Lionard Fernando Pajoy Ortiz (born June 7, 1981) is a professional footballer from Colombia. He is known for playing as a striker, which means he focuses on scoring goals. Currently, he plays for the team Alianza Universidad.

Pajoy's Football Journey

Starting in Colombia

Lionard Pajoy began his football career with the team Cortulua in 2004. The next year, in 2005, he moved to Atlético Huila. In 2006, he joined Boyacá Chicó and had a great season, scoring 12 goals in 35 games.

Because of his strong performance, Pajoy was signed by Cúcuta Deportivo, who were champions of Colombia in 2006. He helped Cúcuta reach the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores 2007, which is a big international tournament for South American clubs. He even scored an important goal that helped his team get to the semi-finals. After three years with Cúcuta, he joined Deportivo Cali in 2010. Later that year, he played for Millonarios.

In 2011, he was loaned to Itagüí Ditaires. There, he found his scoring touch again. On October 1, 2011, Pajoy scored all three goals in a 3–1 win for Itagüí against Real Cartagena. He helped his team finish in second place in one part of the league, scoring 10 goals in 17 matches.

Playing in Major League Soccer (MLS)

On February 8, 2012, Pajoy signed with Philadelphia Union, a team in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. Later that year, on August 16, 2012, he was traded to D.C. United. He quickly scored his first goal for D.C. United in a 4–2 victory against Chicago. He even scored against his old team, Philadelphia Union, in a 1–0 win.

Back to Colombia

After the 2013 season, Pajoy left D.C. United. He returned to Colombian football in 2014, joining La Equidad. He played 20 league games but only scored one goal that season.

Success in Peru

After his contract with La Equidad ended, Pajoy moved to Peru to play for Unión Comercio. He started scoring many goals again! In the first part of the 2015 season, he scored 7 goals in just 8 games. This included an amazing four goals in his very first game for the team, which they won 4–2 against Sport Loreto. He continued his great form, becoming one of the top goal scorers in the league. He ended the 2015 season as the league's top scorer with 25 goals in 39 games.

After his fantastic 2015 season, Pajoy decided to join Alianza Lima, one of the most famous and successful clubs in Peru. He wanted to help them win their first Peruvian championship since 2006. Just like before, Pajoy scored in his first game for Alianza Lima, helping them win 2–1. He continued to be a key player for the team.
