Lisa Azuelos is the daughter of French singer and actress Marie Laforêt. Her father was Judas Azuelos, who was of Moroccan Jewish heritage. Lisa has a younger brother and a step-sister named Deborah.
Her parents separated when she was two years old. Lisa and her brother lived with their mother for a time. They also spent some time in a boarding school in Switzerland. Later, they lived in a small village in France.
When Lisa was twelve, she went to live with her father. This is when she learned more about her Sephardic Jewish background.
