Lisa Gorman is a famous Australian fashion designer. She created her own clothing brand for women called Gorman. She worked on the brand for 22 years. In 2021, she stopped being its main designer, also known as the creative director.

Growing Up

Lisa Gorman was the oldest of four sisters. She grew up in Warrnambool, a town by the coast in Victoria, Australia.

After finishing school in 1989 at St Ann's College, an all-girls school, she moved to Melbourne. There, she studied nursing and worked part-time at Royal Melbourne Hospital for eight years.

Her Fashion Career

Lisa Gorman started her fashion journey designing for a bridal company in Melbourne. In 1999, she launched her own brand, Gorman. Her first collection was called ‘Less Than 12 Degrees’.

By 2003, her clothes were sold in 55 stores across Australia. They were also available in 15 stores in Japan. In 2004, she opened the very first Gorman shop in Prahran, Melbourne.

In 2010, Lisa sold part of her brand to a fashion company called Factory X. She wanted to focus more on designing. She also needed help managing the growing business. By November 2021, there were over 50 Gorman stores in Australia. By the mid-2010s, Gorman was known as one of Australia's most "iconic" fashion brands.

In November 2023, Lisa Gorman became the main designer for Kikki.K. This is a popular brand that makes stationery.

About Her Life

Lisa Gorman lives in Fitzroy, Victoria. She lives there with her husband, Dean Angelucci. They have two daughters together.
