Lisa Iwamoto facts for kids
Lisa Iwamoto is a talented American designer, teacher, and writer. She teaches architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. She also leads the Department of Architecture there. Lisa wrote a book called Digital Fabrications: Architectural and Material Techniques in 2013.
Becoming an Architect and Teacher
Lisa Iwamoto studied at two great universities: the University of Colorado Boulder and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. This is where she learned a lot about design and architecture.
In 2002, Lisa started her own architecture company called IwamotoScott Architecture in San Francisco. She started it with Craig Scott. An architecture company designs buildings and spaces.
Later, in 2021, Lisa became the head of the Architecture Department at the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design. This means she helps guide how architecture is taught at the university.
Awards and Recognition
In 2018, Lisa Iwamoto received a special award. She was one of five winners of the "Women in Architecture" awards given by a magazine called Architectural Record. This award celebrates amazing women who work in architecture.
