The Alaska Spotlight was the first African American newspaper in Alaska. It began in 1952. This weekly newspaper was published by George C. Anderson. It continued to be printed through the 1960s, possibly until 1968.
Midnight Sun Reporter
The Midnight Sun Reporter was another weekly newspaper. It started in 1962 and was also published by George C. Anderson. At its peak in 1962, about 2,500 copies were printed each week. It stopped publishing sometime in the 1960s, but it was known to be active until at least 1964.
Crusader
The Crusader was a weekly newspaper published in 1974. It was edited by Margaret L. Roblow Neal. This newspaper was only published for a short time, stopping in the same year it started.
The New Horizon
The New Horizon was a weekly newspaper that began in 1976. Alberta Jones was the editor of this paper. It was published for at least two years, continuing through 1978.
Vox Populi

The North Star Reporter

The Anchorage Gazette
