The Baku Metro is a cool underground train system in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. It helps people travel all around the city quickly and easily. Right now, the Baku Metro has 27 different stations where you can hop on or off a train.

The metro system has three main lines, each with its own color:

  • The Red Line (called Qırmızı xətt in Azerbaijani) has 13 stations.
  • The Green Line (Yaşıl xətt) has 10 stations.
  • The Purple Line (Bənövşəyi xətt) has 4 stations.

The Baku Metro is always growing, with new stations being built and planned for the future!

The Baku Metro is still growing! There are 4 new stations currently being built. These will make it even easier for people to travel around Baku.

Future Plans for Baku Metro

Beyond the stations currently under construction, there are plans for 46 more stations! These will expand the metro network even further, reaching new parts of the city. Some of these stations are planned to open by 2027 or 2040, while others don't have a set date yet.
