Star vs. the Forces of Evil is a fun animated TV show from Disney Television Animation. It's all about a magical princess named Star Butterfly. She's 14 years old and comes from a dimension called Mewni. Her parents, King River and Queen Moon Butterfly, send her to Earth to learn how to use her magic responsibly.
On Earth, Star lives with the Diaz family as an exchange student. She quickly becomes best friends with Marco Diaz, and they go to high school together. Before creating this show, Daron Nefcy, the creator, worked on other Disney shows like Wander Over Yonder.
The very first episode of Star vs. the Forces of Evil aired on January 18, 2015, on Disney Channel. Later episodes moved to Disney XD starting March 30, 2015. The show was so popular that it was renewed for a second, third, and fourth season! The final season moved back to Disney Channel and ended on May 19, 2019.

Toffee takes over Ludo's castle and captures Marco. Star teams up with Buff Frog and even Ludo to attack the castle and save Marco. Toffee forces Star to destroy her wand to save Marco. The explosion destroys the castle and Toffee. Star then gets a new wand, but half of her star is still on Mewni.

Season 2 (2016–17): New Wands and Big Secrets
Season 2 brings new challenges and deeper mysteries for Star and Marco. Star gets a new wand, but it's not quite the same. Meanwhile, Ludo also finds a wand of his own, which holds a piece of Star's old magic.
- New Powers and Old Enemies: Star learns to use her new wand, which sometimes acts strangely. She also starts to dig deeper into her family's magic book with Glossaryck, a magical guide. Ludo, now with his own wand, becomes more powerful and dangerous.
- Friendships and Feelings: Star and Marco continue their adventures, but their friendship starts to get more complicated. Marco tries to ask out Jackie Lynn Thomas, and Star deals with her feelings about it. Star's ex-boyfriend, Tom, also tries to change his ways and become friends with Marco.
- Mewni's Past: Star discovers more about her royal family's history, including secrets about ancient queens and dark magic. She learns about Queen Eclipsa, who was known for marrying a monster.
- Big Changes: The season ends with a huge event called "Song Day," where a song reveals Star's secret crush on Marco and that she lost her spellbook. This causes a lot of trouble for Star and her family. Toffee, the mysterious monster, returns and takes over Ludo's body, becoming an even bigger threat. Star is forced to leave Earth and return to Mewni.
Season 3 (2017–18): The Battle for Mewni and Royal Revelations
This season kicks off with a special two-hour movie event called The Battle for Mewni, which makes up the first four episodes.
- Return to Mewni: Star returns to Mewni to find her kingdom in chaos. Toffee has taken over Ludo's body and is causing trouble. Star and her mother, Queen Moon, must fight to save their home and the Magic High Commission.
- Moon's Past: Queen Moon reveals a big secret: Toffee was the one who killed her mother (Star's grandmother) when Moon was young. Moon had to make a deal with the ancient Queen Eclipsa to learn dark magic to defeat Toffee.
- The Book of Spells: Ludo, still controlled by Toffee, destroys the Book of Spells and Glossaryck. This is a huge loss for Star and her family.
- Toffee's Defeat: Star, with the help of her friends and family, finally faces Toffee in an epic battle. Star uses her full butterfly form and new powers to defeat him once and for all.
- Eclipsa's Freedom: After Toffee's defeat, Eclipsa is freed from her crystal prison. Star learns that Eclipsa was imprisoned just for marrying a monster, which makes Star question Mewni's history and rules.
- Marco's Return: Marco decides to return to Mewni as an exchange student to be with Star, becoming her squire.
- Meteora's Story: A shocking truth is revealed: Miss Heinous, the headmistress of St. Olga's, is actually Meteora, Eclipsa's daughter! This means she is also a Butterfly princess. Meteora becomes a powerful monster and seeks to reclaim her throne.
- Star and Marco's Feelings: Star and Marco share a kiss in a photo booth, making their feelings for each other even more complicated.
- Meteora's Rampage: Meteora grows stronger by draining souls and becomes a huge threat to Mewni. Star and her allies must work together to stop her. Eclipsa is forced to turn Meteora back into a baby to save the kingdom.
Season 4 (2019): New Rulers and a United World
The final season explores the consequences of the past and the future of Mewni.
- Eclipsa as Queen: Star gives up her claim to the throne, and Eclipsa becomes the new Queen of Mewni. She tries to make things better for monsters, but many Mewmans don't trust her.
- Moon's Disappearance: Queen Moon goes missing after the battle with Meteora and loses her memory. Star, Marco, and River search for her and eventually find her living a simple life with the Pie Folk.
- Globgor's Release: Eclipsa works to free her monster husband, Globgor, from his crystal prison. This causes more fear and distrust among the Mewmans, who believe he is a dangerous monster.
- Mina Loveberry's Plan: Mina Loveberry, a powerful warrior who idolizes Queen Solaria, believes monsters are evil. She creates an army of powerful Solarian soldiers to fight against Eclipsa and all monsters.
- The Blood Moon Curse: Star and Marco try to break the "Curse of the Blood Moon," which supposedly links their souls forever. They believe this curse is why they have feelings for each other. They go through a ritual to break it, but their feelings remain.
- Truth About Mewni's History: Marco discovers that the first Mewmans were actually humans from Earth, and they took the land from the monsters. This changes how Star and others view their history.
- Star and Marco's Love: After many adventures and challenges, Star and Marco finally admit their true feelings for each other and share a kiss.
- Destroying Magic: To stop Mina and her army, Star makes a difficult decision: she decides to destroy all magic in the universe. She believes this is the only way to bring peace between Mewmans and monsters.
- The Cleaving: Star, Moon, Eclipsa, and Meteora work together to perform the whispering spell, which destroys magic. This causes Mewni and Earth, along with other dimensions, to merge into one world. Star and Marco are reunited in this new, combined world, where humans and magical creatures now live together.
