- 2012–2014: Zuheir Jabbour served as a Chargé d'affaires. This is a diplomat who takes charge when there is no official ambassador.
- March 18, 2014–present: Syria stopped its official diplomatic mission in the U.S. This happened because of the Syrian civil war. This means there is currently no Syrian ambassador in the United States.
