Castles of Glasgow
Crookston Castle
Crookston Castle is a really old castle, first built way back in the 12th century. It was later rebuilt around the year 1400. This castle is special because it's an "X-plan tower house," meaning it has a unique shape when you look at it from above.
Even though it's now a ruin, Crookston Castle is looked after by Historic Scotland. This means it's an important historical site that people can visit and learn from. It stands in an area called Pollok.
Haggs Castle
Haggs Castle is a tower house that was built in the 16th century. Unlike some of the other castles in Glasgow, Haggs Castle is still standing and is lived in today! It's a private home, so you can't visit it like a museum.

Lost Castles: Bishop's, Cathcart, and Partick

Partick Castle
Partick Castle was built in 1611. It was demolished during the 1830s, meaning it was taken down in the 1800s. Like Bishop's Castle, there are no remains of Partick Castle today. It was located in the area known as Partick.
