List of districts in Chhattisgarh facts for kids
Chhattisgarh is a state in India. Just like how your school might have different classes or teams, states in India are divided into smaller areas called districts. These districts help the government manage things better and serve the people more closely.
When Chhattisgarh was first formed by separating from Madhya Pradesh, it had 16 districts. Over time, more districts were added to make it easier to govern and help local communities. For example, two new districts, Bijapur and Narayanpur, were created in 2007. Then, nine more districts were added on January 1, 2012. These new districts included Sukma, Kondagaon, Balod, Bemetara, Baloda Bazar, Gariaband, Mungeli, Surajpur, and Balrampur. Most recently, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi became the 28th district on February 10, 2020.
