What is a District?

Who Manages a District?
Each district in Nagaland has a main leader. This leader is called a District Magistrate or a Deputy Commissioner. They are important officers who belong to the Indian Administrative Service. Their job is to make sure everything runs smoothly in the district. They are helped by many other officials who work in different parts of the government.
To keep everyone safe and maintain peace, there is also a Superintendent of Police in each district. This officer is part of the Indian Police Service. Their main responsibility is to look after law and order and handle any safety issues in the area.
