Ahmadou Ahidjo was Cameroon's first president.

Ahmadou Ahidjo was the very first President of Cameroon. He was born in 1924 and passed away in 1989. He led Cameroon when it became independent from France in 1960.

He was first part of the Cameroonian Union (UC) party. Later, this party joined with others to form the Cameroonian National Union (UNC) in 1966. Ahidjo was president for a long time, from May 1960 until November 1982. He decided to step down from his role.

Paul Biya is the current president of Cameroon.

Paul Biya was born in 1933 and is the current President of Cameroon. He took over from Ahmadou Ahidjo in November 1982.

When he first became president, he was part of the Cameroonian National Union (UNC) party. In 1985, the UNC party changed its name to the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (RDPC). Paul Biya has been the leader of Cameroon ever since.
