The Mayor of Macon-Bibb County is the top elected leader for the combined city and county government of Macon and Bibb County, Georgia. This means one person leads both the city and the county. Bibb County was created in 1822. The city of Macon was officially started in 1823. Before 1833, the city's leaders were called "intendents." In 2014, the city and county governments joined together.
