• Henry H. "Hank" Price was the very first mayor of West Valley City. He served from July 1, 1980, until January 4, 1982.
• Gerald K. Maloney became mayor after Price. He took office in January 1982 and served until January 1986.
• Michael Embley followed Maloney, serving from January 1986 to May 20, 1987.
• Brent F. Anderson began his term in May 1987 and led the city until January 1994.

Mayors of the 1990s and Early 2000s

• Gearld L. Wright became mayor in January 1994. He served for a long period, until July 25, 2002.
• Dennis J. Nordfelt took over as mayor on August 20, 2002. He served the city until January 4, 2010.

Recent Mayors: 2010 to Today

• Mike Winder was the mayor from January 4, 2010, to January 6, 2014.
• Ron C. Bigelow served as mayor from January 6, 2014, until January 4, 2022.
• Karen Lang is the current mayor of West Valley City. She began her term on January 4, 2022, and is still serving the community today.
