The Montebello Islands are a group of islands located off the coast of Western Australia. This amazing collection of islands is found in the north-western part of Australia.

There are about 180 islands in this group. Most of them are quite small. Many of these tiny islands don't even have official names. The two largest islands are Hermite Island and Trimouille Island. Together, these two islands make up about 70% of all the land in the Montebello Islands. Hermite Island is about 1,022 hectares, and Trimouille Island is about 522 hectares.

Exploring the Montebello Islands

The Montebello Islands are a special place. They are an archipelago, which is a fancy word for a group of islands scattered across the sea. These islands are known for their beautiful nature.

What Makes These Islands Special?

Even though many islands are small, they are all part of one big natural area. The islands are located in the Indian Ocean. This area is home to many different kinds of plants and animals. It's like a natural wonderland!
