About Little Howard's Big Question
This show combines live-action and animation to answer tricky questions. Little Howard, the animated character, lives with his guardian, Big Howard. They live in Purley, London.
How the Show Works
Each episode usually starts with a short, funny sketch. This sketch gives Little Howard an idea for a "big question." He then blows a loud animated horn to announce it.
After a fun opening song about monkeys, the show tries to answer the big question. They use different ways to find answers. These include doing research and getting advice from experts. They also use their imagination and even sing songs!
They get extra help from a computer named Mother. Mother is a pink or orange computer that acts like a person. She wears clothes and has feelings, which makes her a unique character.
Funny Adverts and Jokes
Even though the show is on the BBC, which doesn't have regular commercials, it features funny "advertising breaks." These breaks show made-up products that are related to the episode's big question.
The show also includes jokes and references that adults might understand. These are often subtle and designed to make older viewers laugh.
Awards Won
The show has won awards for its writing. On November 16, 2011, an episode from series 2 won a special award. The episode was called Why do Things Have to Die? It won a Writers' Guild of Great Britain award for Best Children’s Television Script.
