Liz Mikel, born Elizabeth Juliene Lacy on November 7, 1963, is a talented American actress and jazz singer from Dallas, Texas. She is famous for playing Corrina "Mama" Williams on the TV show Friday Night Lights. In the show, she played the mother of a football star named Brian "Smash" Williams.

A Community's Support
On January 7, 2010, Liz Mikel's apartment building in Dallas caught fire. She lost all her clothes, belongings, and special memories in the fire. The local arts community quickly came together to help her.
They organized a series of benefit concerts to raise money for her. The Dallas Theater Center also announced that they would donate all ticket sales from a special musical performance. This musical was called Give It Up!, and Liz Mikel was in it. This shows how much her community cares about her.
