Llanos de Santa Lucía is a district in the Paraíso area of Costa Rica. It's located in the Cartago province. This district used to be called Santa Lucía. It's the newest district in Paraíso, created on July 21, 2004.

History of Llanos de Santa Lucía
The main town area of Llanos de Santa Lucía is called Villa Llanos. This area began to form in April 1986.
Llanos de Santa Lucía became the fifth district of Paraíso on July 21, 2004. This happened because its population grew very quickly. The President at that time, Abel Pacheco de la Espriella, officially made it a district.

Llanos de Santa Lucía covers an area of about 6.55 square kilometers. It is located at an elevation of 1347 meters above sea level.

Getting Around: Transportation
Main Roads
National Route 10 is an important road that passes through the district. It connects several cities, including San José, downtown Cartago, Turrialba, and Limón.
Train Service
The Interurbano Line train tracks run through Llanos de Santa Lucía. As of 2020, the train line was being rebuilt. In the future, people will be able to use passenger trains here. The main train station for passengers is near the Estadio Municipal Quincho Barquero in downtown Llanos de Santa Lucía.
Public Buses
Public transportation in the district is provided by a company called COOPEPAR RL. They operate buses that serve the Llanos de Santa Lucía area. There is also a bus service that connects the district to downtown Cartago.
