Lluçà (pronounced lyoo-SAH) is a small town, or municipality, located in Catalonia, Spain. It is part of a region called Lluçanès. The municipality includes a main town, Santa Eulàlia de Puigoriol [Wikidata], and a smaller village also named Lluçà. This village is famous for its old monastery and gives its name to the whole Lluçanès area.

In 2015, the people of Lluçà voted to join a new official region, or comarca, called Lluçanès. This plan was put on hold for a while. However, in 2023, Lluçà officially became part of the new Lluçanès comarca. Before that, it was part of the Osona region.

  • Sant Vicenç del Castell Hermitage: This is a beautiful old church built in the Romanesque style. It has a unique circular shape with a rounded roof. Records show it existed as early as 988, but the building you see today was built in the 11th and 12th centuries.
  • Monastery of Santa Maria de Lluçà: This is another Romanesque church. It's special because it has amazing Gothic murals, which are paintings on its walls. This monastery is a big reason why the village of Lluçà is so well-known.
