Lobos de Tlaxcala is a football team from Tlaxcala, Mexico. They play in the Tercera División de México. This is one of Mexico's professional football leagues. The club was started in Tlaxcala after a team moved there from Oaxaca in 2009.
History of Lobos Tlaxcala
The Lobos de Tlaxcala football club began in 1973. Most of the first players were young people from the state of Tlaxcala. They joined the Tercera División de México, which is a national football league.
The team got the nickname "Lobos," which means "Wolves" in Spanish. They were also called "Escuadrón Verde," or "Green Brigade." This was because their home jerseys were green.
By the 1978–79 season, the club played very well. They reached the final match of their league. Winning this game helped them move up to the Segunda División de México. This was a higher-level league.
Lobos de Tlaxcala played in the Segunda División from 1979 to 1982. After that, they moved back down to the Tercera División. The club then took a break from playing. They returned to the league in 2003. At that time, they were known as Guerreros de Tlaxcala.
In 2009, Alejandro Escudero took charge of the club. He joined an amateur football league called liga dominical de futsal. The team played under the name PIDE B.
The club officially rejoined the Tercera División de México in 2011. This happened after they won the liga dominical de futsal three times. They won it in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
