Lodgepole is a small, unincorporated community located in Perkins County, South Dakota, in the United States. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town.
This community got its name from a nearby stream called Lodgepole Creek. It is mostly surrounded by parts of the Grand River National Grassland. This is a large area of protected land, even though the different sections are not directly connected.
