Lola, érase una vez (which means Lola, Once Upon a Time) is a fun Mexican TV show called a telenovela. It was made by Televisa and is like a modern version of the famous Cinderella story. The show is about a girl named Lola who works as a nanny and sings in a rock band. She meets her "Prince Charming," Alexander Von Ferdinand. This show first aired in Mexico on February 26, 2007. It stars Aarón Díaz and Eiza González. The show was produced by Pedro Damián.

The Story of Lola

This modern fairy tale takes place in Mexico City. It follows Lola, a kind and ambitious Mexican girl who doesn't have much money. Her life changes when she meets Alexander Von Ferdinand. He is the oldest son of a very rich family. His parents sadly passed away in an accident.

Alexander is now in charge of his five younger brothers and sisters. Their names are Marcos, Archibaldo, Marion, Boris, and Otto. They all live together in a huge, beautiful mansion.

Lola Meets Alexander

One day, Alexander goes on a trip to Germany. He leaves his younger siblings at home with their nanny. The siblings decide to throw a big party. They invite Lola and her band to play music. During the party, a bubble machine breaks and fills the whole house with bubbles!

Suddenly, Alexander comes home early from Germany. All the teenagers at the party quickly run away. Lola's band also leaves. But Lola goes back inside the bubbly house to save the youngest sibling, Otto, who is only six years old. Lola is covered in foam, so Alexander can't see her face clearly. Otto is safe, and Alexander asks Lola to stop, but she runs away from the mansion. She accidentally leaves behind one of her special "lucky" pink Converse shoes. It's just like Cinderella's glass slipper!

A New Job for Lola

Later, Otto accidentally gets Lola into trouble again. He hides in the back of her motorcycle! To say sorry, Alexander offers Lola a job. She becomes an assistant nanny in the Von Ferdinand mansion.

At first, Alexander seems a bit serious. But when he meets Lola, he starts to change. He falls in love with her and becomes her "Prince Charming."

Challenges and Villains

Alexander has a girlfriend named Carlota. He feels like he has to marry her because of their families' social status. But he doesn't truly love her. Carlota also doesn't really love Alexander. She only wants his money and often tricks him.

Carlota's mother, Monserrat, is also not very nice. She is a recent widow. Carlota's sister, Rafaela, is much kinder. Alexander's younger siblings don't like Carlota or her mother. They often play tricks to try and get them out of the mansion. They want to stop Carlota from marrying their older brother.

Lola and Alexander start to fall in love. But Carlota and Monserrat try to stop their relationship. They also try to keep a big secret from Lola. Lola is actually Monserrat's stepdaughter and Carlota and Rafaela's half-sister! This means Lola has a right to part of a big family fortune.

Lola, with help from the children, her rock band, and a little bit of magic, tries to "save" Alexander from Carlota and Monserrat. And Alexander tries to protect Lola too!
