Long Point is a small, quiet place in Tama County, Iowa. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's located in the state of Iowa, in the United States.
History
Long Point has an interesting past. A long time ago, in 1890, a post office opened there. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for 30 years, closing in 1920.
The community got its name because it was near a "long point" of land along the nearby Iowa River. Back in 1902, only 33 people lived in Long Point. It was a very small community!
