The Longuemare's Sunangel (Heliangelus clarisse) is a special type of hummingbird. It is a small, fast-flying bird that gets its name from its bright, jewel-like colors. This amazing bird lives in the high mountains of Venezuela and the northeastern parts of Colombia. It is very similar to another hummingbird called the Amethyst-throated Sunangel.

How does it look?
This hummingbird has a short bill for its size, which is about 1.8 cm (0.7 inches) long. Its feathers are mostly dark in color. Like many hummingbirds, it can have shiny, iridescent patches that sparkle in the sunlight. These patches often appear on its throat or head.
Where does it live?
Longuemare's Sunangels live in the cool, misty forests of the Andes mountains. You can find them in specific areas of Venezuela and Colombia. They prefer habitats with lots of flowers, which they visit to drink nectar.
