Lonnie Bradley's Early Boxing Days
Lonnie Bradley was born in Charleston, South Carolina. Before he became a professional boxer, he was a very successful amateur. He won two New York Golden Gloves Championships, which are big boxing tournaments for amateur fighters. In 1992, he also became a National Golden Gloves Champion, showing he was one of the best young boxers in the country.
Becoming a Professional Boxer
Lonnie Bradley started his professional boxing career in 1992. He quickly showed his talent, winning many fights. In 1995, he won the vacant WBO Middleweight Title. This was a huge achievement, making him a world champion! He won this title by defeating David Mendez with a TKO (Technical Knockout).
Lonnie was a strong champion and successfully defended his WBO title six times. This means he fought six different challengers and won each time, keeping his championship belt. Some of his notable wins during this time were against tough opponents like Simon Brown and John Williams.
He eventually gave up his title, but he continued to box. Lonnie Bradley retired from boxing in 2003. His professional record was very impressive: 29 wins, 1 draw, and only 1 loss. His only defeat was against David Alonso Lopez, which was also a TKO.
