The Story of Lookout
The name Lookout is quite special! This community got its name because it's located in a high place. From this elevated spot, people could enjoy wide, open views, almost like a perfect place to "look out" over the landscape.
A post office was first opened in Lookout way back in 1889. A post office is a place where people can send and receive letters and packages. This particular post office served the community for many years, helping residents stay connected, until it finally closed its doors in 1969.
