Louis Cardiet (born January 20, 1943 – died April 28, 2020) was a French professional footballer. He played as a defender. A defender's main job is to stop the other team from scoring goals.

Louis Cardiet's Football Journey

Louis Cardiet was a talented football player from France. He was born in a town called Quimperlé. His journey in football started when he was young. He played for youth teams before becoming a professional player.

Early Career and Rennes

Cardiet began his youth career at FC Lorient. Later, he joined Rennes in 1962. He played for Rennes for a long time, from 1963 to 1973. During his time there, he played in 284 matches. He even scored 3 goals as a defender!

With Rennes, Cardiet helped his team win two important trophies. These were the Coupe de France in 1965 and again in 1971. The Coupe de France is a major football cup competition in France.
