Lowell was a small, unofficial community located in Napa County, California. An "unincorporated community" means it wasn't officially a city or town with its own government. Instead, it was managed by the county.
Where Was Lowell Located?
Lowell was situated at an elevation of 66 feet (about 20 meters) above sea level. It was found along the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks. This community was located about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) south of another place called Napa Junction.
Lowell's Transformation
In 1992, Lowell underwent a big change. It was "annexed" and "incorporated" into the nearby city of American Canyon. This means that Lowell officially became a part of American Canyon. It stopped being a separate, unofficial community and joined the larger city.
