Early Life and Family
Luane Dy was born in Cauayan, Isabela, Philippines. Her family has a mix of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese backgrounds. Her father, William Dy, is of pure Chinese descent. Her mother, Thelma Rivera Estrella-Dy, is half-Filipino and half-Spanish.
Luane has two siblings: an older brother and a younger sister. When she was 14 years old, her parents separated. Luane, her mother, and her siblings then moved from Isabela to Quezon City.
Luane Dy's Career Journey
Luane Dy started her career as a model when she was just 14 years old. She joined a model search contest and also appeared in commercials for different food brands. While studying accountancy at Far Eastern University, she began acting.
Early Acting and Hosting Roles
Luane starred in various shows on ABS-CBN. In 2007, she became an entertainment news presenter for GMA Network's 24 Oras. Then, in 2010, she joined Unang Hirit as one of its hosts. In 2012, Luane took over as the "Star Bites" news anchor on Balitanghali.
Joining Eat Bulaga!
In 2017, Luane became a regular host on the popular noontime show Eat Bulaga!. The show's management had wanted her to join before, but her schedule with Balitanghali made it difficult. After she guested on a segment called "Jackpot En Poy" on Eat Bulaga!, they offered her a hosting spot, and she accepted.
Besides hosting, Luane also acted in My Carinderia Girl. This was one of the special Lenten episodes of Eat Bulaga! in 2018. She also took part in a web series that showed her working behind the scenes as a location manager for a segment of Eat Bulaga!.
Personal Life
Luane Dy was previously in a relationship with news reporter Mark Zambrano. In 2010, she started dating actor Carlo Gonzales. They got engaged in 2019 and were married in November of the same year. Luane and Carlo have a son named Jose Christiano, who was born in May 2020. They often call him Christ.
