Luane Dy (born January 25, 1986) is a famous Filipino TV host, model, and actress. Her full name is Luzia Jannie Estrella Dy-Gonzales.

She is best known for hosting Unang Hirit, a morning TV show on GMA Network. In 2015, she and her co-hosts won the Best Morning Show Hosts award. She also shares entertainment news on Balitanghali and used to host the 'Chika Minute' segment on 24 Oras Weekend. As an actress, she has appeared in TV shows like The Wedding and Somewhere In My Heart on ABS-CBN. She also starred in I Heart You, Pare! and Genesis on GMA Network.

Early Life and Family Background

Luane Dy was born in Cauayan, Isabela. Her family has a mix of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese roots. Her father, William Dy, is fully Chinese. Her mother, Thelma Rivera Estrella-Dy, is half-Filipino and half-Spanish.

Luane has an older brother and a younger sister. When she was 14 years old, her parents separated. She then moved to Quezon City with her mother and siblings.

Luane Dy's Career Journey

Luane Dy started her career as a model when she was 14. She joined a model search contest. She also appeared in TV commercials for different food brands.

While studying accountancy at Far Eastern University, she began acting. She starred in several shows on ABS-CBN. In 2007, she became an entertainment news presenter for GMA Network's 24 Oras. In 2010, she joined Unang Hirit as one of its hosts. She later became the anchor for the "Star Bites" segment on Balitanghali in 2012.

Becoming a Host on Eat Bulaga!

In 2017, Luane became a regular host on Eat Bulaga!, a very popular noontime show. The show's management had wanted her to join before. However, her schedule with Balitanghali made it difficult.

After being a guest on Eat Bulaga!, she was offered a hosting role, and she accepted. Besides hosting, Luane also acted in My Carinderia Girl. This was one of the special Lenten episodes of Eat Bulaga! in 2018. She also took part in a web series. It showed her working behind the scenes as a location manager for a segment of Eat Bulaga!.

Personal Life and Family

Luane Dy used to date news reporter Mark Zambrano. In 2010, she started dating actor Carlo Gonzales. They got engaged in 2019 and married in November of the same year.

Luane and Carlo have a son named Jose Christiano. He was born in May 2020 and is often called Christ.
