Lucero is the tenth music album by the famous Mexican singer and actress Lucero. It came out in 1993. Many people also know this album by the name Veleta, which is one of its most popular songs.

This album was special because it was the first of Lucero's albums released only on CD and cassette. Older albums were also available on LP records. The album sold over 1 million copies. This earned it two gold albums and one platinum award, showing how popular it was!

The songs on the Lucero album were all written and produced by Rafael Pérez Botija. He also wrote special bonus songs for the TV show Los Parientes Pobres.

Hit Singles from the Album

  • "Veleta" was the first and most successful song released from the album. It became a huge hit in Mexico, reaching the number one spot. It also did very well in the United States, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart in May 1993.
