Luz Elena Ruiz Bejarano (born November 30, 1936) is a famous Mexican singer and actress. She is better known by her stage name, Lucha Villa. She became very popular in the 1960s and is still remembered for her amazing voice and acting skills.

Early Life and Music Beginnings
Lucha Villa was born in Santa Rosalía de Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico. Her real name is Luz Elena Ruiz Bejarano. A TV producer named Luis G. Dillon gave her the stage name "Lucha Villa." "Lucha" is a short, friendly way to say Luz Elena. "Villa" was chosen to honor the famous Mexican revolutionary, Pancho Villa.
Lucha Villa started her career in the early 1960s. She quickly became a big star in both music and movies. Some of her first popular songs included "Media vuelta," written by José Alfredo Jiménez. She also had hits with "La cruz del cielo" and "Viva quien sabe querer."
In the 1970s, Lucha Villa even traveled to Denver, Colorado, in the United States. She performed there to help raise money for youth programs and schools.
In 1996, Lucha Villa joined two other legendary Mexican singers, Lola Beltrán and Amalia Mendoza. They recorded a special album together called Disco del Siglo: Las Tres Señoras. This album celebrated their important contributions to music in Mexico and Latin America.
