Luis Miguel Salvador García was born on April 17, 1963. He is a Spanish politician from the Citizens party. He served as the mayor of Granada from 2019 to 2021. Before that, he was a member of the Congress of Deputies (part of Spain's parliament) from 2016 to 2019. Earlier in his career, he was part of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party. He was also a member of the Senate from 2004 to 2011.

Early Life and Education
Luis Salvador was born in Córdoba. He studied Political Science and Administration at the University of Granada. He also trained to be an international election observer. This training happened at the Diplomatic School of Spain. Later, he worked as the Head of the Cabinet in the Provincial Deputation of Granada. This role involved managing the office for the local government in the Granada province.
Political Career and Party Changes
In 2004, Luis Salvador was elected to the Senate. He represented the area of Granada. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2008. In October 2013, he left the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). He did this because he disagreed with the regional leader, Susana Díaz. After leaving, he joined the Citizens party. He ran in the 2014 European elections but was not elected.
Becoming Mayor of Granada
In the 2015 local elections, Luis Salvador ran to become the mayor of Granada. His party's members in the city hall chose not to vote for the existing mayor, José Torres Hurtado. Salvador had turned down an offer to join the government with Torres Hurtado's party. At the end of 2015, he returned to national politics. He was elected to the Congress of Deputies.
In May 2019, during his campaign for mayor, Salvador gained attention. He had a post on his website that used an unusual analysis. This analysis claimed his head shape showed positive qualities. Even though his party won only four out of 27 seats, he became mayor in June. He received support from the People's Party (PP) and Vox. Granada was the largest city where a Citizens party member became mayor at that time.
Time as Mayor and Resignation
In December 2020, Mayor Salvador spoke out about the transfer of some African migrants. These migrants were moved from the Canary Islands to Granada by the Ministry of the Interior. Other political parties in Granada criticized his comments. They said his words were not welcoming.
The People's Party later stopped supporting him. Because of this, Luis Salvador resigned as mayor on July 2, 2021. After his resignation, he supported the previous mayor, Francisco Cuenca, from the PSOE. Salvador remained in Cuenca's government. He led a project called Estrategía 2031. This project aimed to help Granada become the European Capital of Culture in 2031.
