An oratorio is a large musical piece for voices and orchestra. This one was first performed in 1949. Other famous pieces include her piano works Trois Préludes and La Ronde des aiguilles. She also wrote Alleluia for the organ.

Lydia Boucher was born in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, Quebec. She loved music from a young age. She studied music with many different teachers. These teachers helped her learn about writing music, singing, violin, piano, and organ. Some of her teachers included Claude Champagne and Auguste Descarries.

In 1907, she joined the Sisters of Saint Anne. This is a group of nuns. She made her final promises in 1909. At that time, she took the name Sister Marie-Thérèse. Another composer, Alice Vinette, was also a nun in the same group.

Sister Marie-Thérèse was a music teacher for a very long time. She taught for 60 years, from 1909 to 1969. She taught piano, singing, violin, and organ. She worked at many different schools. These included the Maison-Mère Mont-Ste-Anne and the École de musique Wilfrid-Pelletier. She passed away in Montreal in 1971 when she was 81 years old.
