Lyman F. Hoffman is a politician from Alaska. He was born on February 13, 1950, in Bethel, Alaska. He is a member of the Yup'ik people.
Mr. Hoffman has served in the Alaska Senate since 1995. He represents a large area of Alaska. This includes the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, the Alaska Peninsula, and the Aleutian Islands. Before joining the Senate, he also served in the Alaska House of Representatives.
A Long-Serving Leader
In January 2019, Lyman Hoffman made history. He became the person who has served the longest in the Alaska Legislature. This means he has worked as a lawmaker in Alaska for more years than anyone else before him. He passed the record previously held by Jay Kerttula.
