A map showing where Lynchburg is located in Missouri.

Lynchburg is a small place in southeastern Laclede County, Missouri, in the United States. It's not an official city or town, so it's called an "unincorporated community." It's found where two main roads, Missouri Route 32 and Missouri Route 95, meet. This spot is about 30 miles (or 48 kilometers) southeast of a larger town called Lebanon.

What is Lynchburg?

Lynchburg is a quiet community in the countryside of Missouri. It's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town would. Instead, it's part of the larger Laclede County.

A Bit of History

Lynchburg has been around for a while. A post office was opened there in 1897. This means people in the area could send and receive mail right in their community. The post office served the residents for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1996.

How Lynchburg Got Its Name

The community of Lynchburg was named after some of the very first people who settled there. These early settlers were named David and R. D. Lynch. They were important in starting the community, and so the place took their family name.
