In 1993, Lynne won a big award for her cookbook. It was called The Splendid Table: Recipes from Emilia Romagna, The Heartland of Northern Italian Food. This book was so popular that it led to her starting a radio show. The show, also called The Splendid Table, began in 1995. It was a call-in show on Minnesota public radio.

Lynne hosted The Splendid Table for 22 years. During this time, she won the famous James Beard Foundation Award twice. This award is like an Oscar for the food world!
