Mélissa Theuriau (born on July 18, 1978) is a well-known French journalist and TV presenter. She became famous for her work on French television, especially as a news anchor. She also worked as a co-editor and presenter for a popular investigative show called Zone interdite.
Early Steps in Journalism
Mélissa Theuriau studied journalism at university in France. She earned degrees in News-Communication and Audiovisual Journalism. This helped her prepare for a career in television.
In 2002, she started her career as a reporter for Match TV. A year later, in 2003, she joined La Chaîne Info (LCI), which is a news channel. Here, she became more recognized by people across France. She worked as both a reporter and a news anchor.
Mélissa also presented several shows, including LCI Matin (LCI Morning news) and a travel show called Voyages. She even presented the 6:40 news on both LCI and TF1, another big French TV channel. In 2006, TF1 offered her a job to anchor their weekend evening news, but she decided not to take it.
Leading Zone Interdite
In June 2006, Mélissa joined Métropole 6 (M6), another major French television channel. She became the editor-in-chief and presenter of Zone interdite. This show is a weekly program that features in-depth investigative reports on various topics.
She also presented other shows on the French TV channel Paris Première. These included Un jour, une Photo, which explored the stories behind famous historic photographs. She also hosted Deux, trois jours avec moi, a travel show where a guest would share more about themselves during a trip.
Mélissa continued to lead Zone interdite on M6 for six years. Her last show was on August 29, 2012.
Helping Others
Mélissa Theuriau is also involved in charity work. In March 2007, she helped start an organization called “La Rose.” She worked with five other journalists, including Claire Chazal and Laurence Ferrari, to create this group. “La Rose” partners with UNICEF to help provide education for girls around the world.
Family Life
Mélissa Theuriau married French-Moroccan comedian and actor Jamel Debbouze on May 7, 2008. They have two children together. Their son, Léon, was born in December 2008, and their daughter, Lila, was born in 2011.
