M.A.D. stands for "Music, Art and Dance." It was a super popular Indian TV show for kids. This educational programme taught children how to be creative. It was made by Miditech and shown on Pogo TV.

The show started in 2005 and ran for seven seasons. It was all about Do It Yourself projects. The main host and director was Rob, also known as Harun Robert. He showed viewers how to make amazing art, from easy crafts to more challenging projects. Rob also had other hosts join him each season. The show finished in 2010. After the TV show, Rob started a YouTube channel called "Mad Stuff with Rob." This channel continued the fun and creative ideas from the show.

Meet the M.A.D. Team

Rob was the main artist and host of M.A.D. But he wasn't alone! Other co-hosts joined him. They helped with dance and music segments. Let's meet some of the people who made the show special.

Season 1 Stars

  • Rob - He was the main host. Rob taught viewers how to make art in sections like 'Make It Easy'. He also created 'The Big Picture' art projects.
  • Candy - She was the main female host. Candy shared cool facts and sometimes danced in the 'In Motion' part.
  • Palak and Abhas - These two child hosts learned art from Rob. They would try the projects themselves. They also shared facts and danced in 'In Motion'.

Season 2 Friends

  • Rob - Still the main art expert!
  • Palak and Abhas - They continued to learn and share art.
  • Deepti - She was the main female host for this season. Deepti did similar things to Candy in Season 1.
  • Sid - He was a guitarist and part of the show's band. Sid played music in the 'In Stereo' section.

Season 3 Crew

  • Sid - Still bringing the music.

How M.A.D. Was Made

M.A.D. was more than just an art and craft show. It taught kids many things. Viewers learned about cool dance moves and lovely music. They also discovered interesting facts. The show even introduced them to talented people.

Most episodes, except for Season 5, had a special theme. All the dance, music, and art projects were linked to that theme. This helped children learn about topics like water, space, cameras, or light.

Every episode usually showed three art projects. These were in two unnamed sections and the 'Make It Easy' section. 'The Big Picture' was always there. Also, one of 'In Motion', 'In Stereo', or 'In Action' was included.

Here are some of the show's fun sections:

Art and Craft Sections

  • Make It Easy ! - This section taught simple art projects. Sometimes, guest children would visit Rob. They learned from him and even made art with him. This section was in every season.
  • The Big Picture - In this section, Rob and his team made amazing, huge art. These were often big 3D crafts. They were usually made outside the TV studio. This section was a highlight in every season.
  • Draw It Now ! - This section was only in Season 5. Rob showed how to make cool drawings in five simple steps. These steps included sketching, outlining, erasing, and coloring.
  • Challenge Rob ! - Also only in Season 5, Rumana gave Rob a challenge. She would give him only a few items. Rob then had to make something cool using just those things.
  • Small Picture - This section was like 'The Big Picture' but for smaller projects. It was also only in Season 5. Examples included buildings made from staple pins or an island from vegetables.

Music and Dance Sections

  • In Motion - In this section, the female host or other kids would perform a dance. The dance was always related to the episode's theme. This section was in every season, but not every episode.
  • In Stereo - Here, Sid, the band, or a guest musician played music. The music was always linked to the episode's theme. This section was not in the last two seasons.
  • In Action - Rob would do something different in this section. For example, he once flew a kite at the International Kite Festival in Gujarat. This section was shown only a few times in Season 2.

Other Cool Sections

  • Studio - A special guest would visit the show. This guest was an expert in something related to the episode's theme. Rob sometimes learned new things from them. Guests included origami artist Himanshu Agrawal and Indian choreographer Ashley Lobo.
  • Gallery - Near the end of almost every episode, Rob visited the gallery. He read fan mail and showed artworks sent in by viewers. In later seasons, the gallery wall was full of drawings during the ending credits.
  • Facts - In the first two seasons, the main hosts had a special section to share facts. In other seasons, facts were shared throughout the show without a specific section.
  • Animate - This section showed short animations. These animations were either funny or taught something new. It was introduced in Season 4 and ran for two seasons.
