MVP 2: Most Vertical Primate is a fun movie from 2001. It's the second film in the MVP series. The main character is a smart chimpanzee named Jack. This movie is a sequel to MVP: Most Valuable Primate.
Story of the Movie
The movie starts with Jack, the amazing chimpanzee, getting a chance to play hockey. He's invited to join the Seattle Simians team. But then, something unfair happens. The Los Angeles Carjackers team tries to get Jack into trouble. They make it look like Jack bit one of their players. Because of this, Jack leaves the team. The other Simians players try to find him.
Jack then meets a boy named Ben. Ben is a skater who has run away from home. He lives in a small shack near an old, empty swimming pool. Jack and Ben quickly become great friends. They spend time together, and Jack even learns a bit about skateboarding.
However, a police officer soon finds out where Jack and Ben are living. This means they have to leave their home by the pool. As they are leaving, Ben accidentally breaks his skateboard. This is a big problem because Ben was planning to enter an important skating competition. He hoped to win and get a sponsor.
Jack helps Ben find a new skateboard. They go to Oliver Plant's house, who has a lot of old skateboard parts. Oliver finds Ben and hears about his broken board and the competition. Oliver is kind and gives Ben a new board to use. They stay at Oliver's house for the night. Oliver doesn't know about Ben being a runaway at first. But later, Ben starts to think Oliver might know. Jack convinces Ben to stay because they have nowhere else to go.
Earlier, someone who helps kids like Ben had visited Oliver. That night, Oliver calls her to say he found Ben. The next day, they all go to the skating competition. When it's Ben's turn, he feels nervous and says he can't do it. But Jack surprises everyone! He shows that he has a special talent for skateboarding. Jack decides to ride with Ben during the competition.
Together, Ben and Jack do an amazing job! Ben wins the competition and gets sponsored by the famous skateboarder Bob Burnquist. Oliver also decides to adopt Ben, giving him a safe and loving home.
Meanwhile, Jack's little brother, Louie, travels to Seattle. Louie tries to pretend he is Jack and plays hockey. But he's not very good! Then, Jack arrives and helps the Simians win the ZHL cup. After the big win, Jack and Louie decide to go back home. Ben gives Louie a skateboard so Jack can teach him how to skate. The movie ends with Louie happily riding down a ramp at their home.
