Maddie's Early Career and Olympic Debut
Maddie started snowboarding at a young age. She quickly became one of the top athletes. In 2018, she earned a bronze medal at the Winter X Games in Aspen. This is a huge competition for action sports. Later that year, she was chosen for the US Olympic team. She competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

On January 18, 2025, Maddie made history again. She was at the Laax Open competition. She became one of the first two women to land a "double cork 1080" in a halfpipe. This is another incredibly difficult trick. She landed a "frontside double cork 1080." Another snowboarder, Chloe Kim, landed a similar trick earlier that day. These tricks show how much women's snowboarding is growing.
