Madelene Olivier Van Aardt (born August 14, 1896 – died July 6, 1982) was a talented South African composer, teacher, and pianist. She was one of the few women who wrote songs in the Afrikaans language.

Madelene Van Aardt was born in a town called Graaff-Reinet in South Africa. She studied music and earned a special diploma from Trinity College London, a famous music school. After her studies, she moved back to South Africa and lived in Somerset East.
