Madeline Zima is an American actress. She is well-known for playing Grace Sheffield in the TV show The Nanny. This was a popular CBS sitcom that aired from 1993 to 1999. She also played Mia Lewis in the comedy-drama series Californication (2007–2011). Later, she appeared as Gretchen Berg in the NBC series Heroes (2009–2010).

Early Life and Family
Madeline Zima was born in New Haven, Connecticut, in the United States. Her parents are Marie and Dennis. Her last name, Zima, means "winter" in Polish. This name comes from her grandfather, who had Polish roots. Madeline has two younger sisters, Vanessa and Yvonne. Both of her sisters are also actresses.
Acting Career Highlights
Madeline started acting when she was very young. She was only two years old when she appeared in a television commercial for Downy fabric softener. In 1993, when she was a child, she got a big role. She played Grace Sheffield on the TV show The Nanny. This show was very successful and ran for six seasons, ending in 1999.
In 2007, Madeline took on another important role. She played Mia Lewis in the first two seasons of the Showtime comedy-drama Californication. She acted alongside David Duchovny in this series. She also made guest appearances in seasons three and four until 2011.
Madeline has also acted in many films. Some of her well-known movies include The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and A Cinderella Story. Other films she appeared in are Dimples, Looking for Sunday, Once in a Very Blue Moon, Legacy, and The Collector.
In 2009, Madeline joined the cast of Heroes. She played Gretchen Berg. This character was Claire Bennet's unique roommate. Madeline also made guest appearances on several other TV shows. These include Law & Order, JAG, and Touched by an Angel. She was also a guest star in an episode of The Vampire Diaries. In 2017, she appeared in two episodes of Twin Peaks The Return.
In 2012, she was chosen for a co-starring role in a TV pilot called Gilded Lilys. However, the ABC network did not pick up the series. In 2019, Madeline starred in The Blondes. This was a scripted podcast series, and she worked with her sister Yvonne.
More recently, Madeline has continued to act. In 2020, she appeared in HBO's Perry Mason. In 2021, she was in an episode of NCIS: Hawaiʻi. In 2022, she got a recurring role as Casey Brinke / Space Case. This was in season four of Doom Patrol. In 2023, she joined Megan Fox in a science fiction thriller called Subservience, which is set to be released in 2024.
