S. Krishnamoorthy, known professionally as Madhan Bob, was a talented Indian actor and comedian. He was born on October 19, 1953, and passed away on August 2, 2025. Madhan Bob was famous for his funny facial expressions, big laughs, and unique eye movements. He often appeared in Tamil films, playing supporting roles. He was also a judge on the popular Sun TV comedy show Asatha Povathu Yaaru?.

Early Life and Learning
Madhan Bob's birth name was Krishnamoorthy. He was the eighth child in his family. From a young age, Madhan loved to learn new things. He spent a lot of time teaching himself different skills. He learned to play musical instruments, which kept him busy and creative. He also studied yoga and even tried heavyweight boxing! Madhan worked hard to overcome a stammer, using his knowledge to help himself speak more clearly.
A Journey in Music and Movies
Madhan Bob had many different jobs before becoming famous. He worked in sales, but his true passion was music. He learned a lot from experienced musicians like S. Ramanathan and 'Vikku' Vinayakaram. Madhan spent much of his time creating music for TV shows, advertisements, and radio.
It is believed that when the Doordarshan TV channel started in Chennai in 1975, he was the first person to play guitar on that channel. A very famous musician, A. R. Rahman, even said that Madhan Bob was one of his mentors. This was confirmed during the launch of the film Thenali in 2000.
Later, Madhan started acting in movies. He mostly played supporting roles. Many of his films were very successful. Because of this, he was nicknamed 'sentiment artist' by people in the Tamil film industry.
Later Years
Madhan Bob faced a serious illness. After receiving treatment, he passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 71.
