Who Painted It?
The painting is often thought to be by the famous Italian artist Raphael. However, some art experts are not completely sure. They believe that another artist, Giulio Romano, might have helped Raphael paint it.
It's also interesting that the rose in the painting and the bottom part were added later. An unknown artist did this after the main painting was finished.
Other Versions and Exhibitions
There is another version of this painting. This second painting does not have the added rose or the extra strip at the bottom. It was painted on a wood panel.
In 2022, the Madonna of the Rose was part of a special art show. This exhibition was held at the National Gallery, allowing many people to see the artwork.
